We are really excited at how God is growing and developing our ministry with the Rising Generations: children and young people, both within the church and beyond.

Outside Sundays

We also have children and youth activities available outside Sundays at The Durham Centre and The Emmanuel Centre.

Beacon Kids

School years three to six

Our Beacon Kids group meets on Thursday afternoons straight after school during term time from 4pm to 5.30pm at The Emmanuel Centre.
The sessions follow a separate programme to church and are designed to be more accessible, so it’s easier for children new to church and for children to bring their friends.

The Beacon Kids team is led by Dan Baker and Matt Jackson.

Beacon Youth

School years seven to thirteen

This group meets on Fridays during term time, from 6.30pm to 8pm at The Durham Centre.

It’s a chance for young people to relax and enjoy the company of others the same age. The activities range from baking, crafts, challenge nights to the much loved ‘Nerf War’ evenings as well as termly trips to local entertainment venues.

Whilst most of the young people also go to church, the Friday group is open to all, and is a great place to invite friends along.

The Beacon Youth team is led by Dan Baker, Matt Jackson and Ashaleigh Higgins.

Youth house groups

Our Youth House Groups are a place to build friendships and study the Bible together, exploring faith and big questions. Contact us for details.

One-to-one discipling

We also seek to offer our young people the option of one-to-one discipling with a trusted member of the church community. For more information on this or any of our children and youth activities, please get in touch.
