Helping out a local charity

Members of our Emmanuel Community in Gilesgate have a long-standing friendship with Durham Action on Single Housing (DASH), a local homelessness charity.

Over the last couple of years, they have redecorated DASH’s residents’ communal room, helped out with gardening, sorted donated clothes and renovated donated furniture, as well as providing Christmas hampers for DASH residents.

On Sunday 14th October, they spent their afternoon helping out with gardening at DASH HQ and upcycling some donated furniture.

It’s great to be supporting such a good cause locally.

Helping out a local charity

One of our Emmanuel Communities that is based in Gilesgate, Durham, has been helping out Durham Action on Single Housing (DASH), which works to combat homelessness in the area.

Over recent weeks, members of the Community have painted a communal room, tided up an overgrown car park, donated Christmas hampers to residents and painted a storage room.

Are you part of an Emmanuel Community?

Our Emmanuel Communities are small groups of individuals within our church, that meet together during the week to build community together.

They are all shapes and sizes. They might include prayer, Bible study, fellowship, food, fun, mission, or more! There are groups across the region, from Hartlepool to Chester-le-Street.

Sunday 28th January was Emmanuel Communities Sunday - a celebration of our Emmanuel Communities, and an invitation to everyone in the church to get involved in a Community.
