As Christians, we are adopted into God's family and we at Emmanuel, through our Compassion 4 Kids initiative, are supporting the work of Home for Good, which seeks to recruit more adoptive and foster parents, and Safe Families for Children, which supports families in need.
November 1 to 7 is National Adoption Week and we're considering how we can meet the needs of vulnerable children through adoption, fostering, prayer and support.
Recently we felt prompted by God to give financially to help refugees and others suffering in Syria.
We are delighted to announce a Sunday offering for the work of Tearfund in the area raised £1,600.

County Durham Foodbank is staging a Harvest Appeal.
Donations will go to help people in crisis.
Please donate: sugar, milk (UHT or dried), tinned fruit, tinned vegetables, rice pudding or custard, soap, toothpaste, tinned sponge pudding, coffee, fruit juice (not chilled), instant mashed potato, tinned tomatoes and ready meals (not chilled).
