...and not looking back... was the message that came to us last Sunday from Andrew Westerman (Sunday 11 September).
James Morecroft announced the newest initiative for our church. We will now be meeting on Sunday evenings (as well as Sunday mornings) until Christmas, at The Durham Centre from 7.30pm (tbc) to build a discipleship culture in the churcc and seek Gods will for us to reach into the communities around us. From this we hope to see missional communities developing - groups of people who are discipled and structured around a common passion or calling. Already we have seen Streetlights and the Foodbank springing up in Durham.
We would like to invite everyone to attend the first meeting, which will focus on sending this exciting opportunity well on its way in prayer, on Sunday 2 October, TDC at 7.30pm. We will then continue to meet the following week and beyond. It will not be a replica of Sunday morning, but focused on discipleship, teaching, prayer and mission. It is open to anyone who wants to come!

Durham Foodbank is taking up its first collection on Saturday 17 September (this Saturday).
The foodbank has been set up to help local people through short term crises by providing emergency food parcels.
Distribution will begin in a few weeks. We are invited to donate non-perishable food at a collection point at Sainsburys, at the Arnison Centre, on Saturday from 9am to 3pm.
