Student Alpha

The student alpha course is a great chance to investigate more about Jesus and the Christian Faith in a relaxed and friendly environment. It is an opportunity to explore questions such as “Who is Jesus?” and “How can we have faith?” in a relaxed and informal setting.

Here's a standard evening at student alpha:

  • 7:00 - We get together at 7pm in the Appleby Rooms on Church Street on Thurs eve.
  • 7:15 - First we have a great FREE meal together from yummy curries to delicious sausage casseroles!
  • 7:30 - Then we have dessert!
  • 7:45 - Some live music based on the theme from the evening
  • 8:00 - Watch a short student alpha film looking at topics from "Who is Jesus?" to "How does God guide us?"
  • 8:30 - Chance to discuss what we've heard over coffee and cake!
  • 9:00 - Finish from the evening - who knows we may even go to a bar afterwards.

We run two student courses a year together with King’s church Durham. Each week consists of a free meal and dessert followed by a short video and discussion in small groups. The alpha course usually lasts for 8 weeks providing plenty of opportunity to contribute opinions, ask questions and get to know your group well.

Our next Alpha course will be starting on Thursday 13th October in the Appleby Rooms on Church Street (opposite St Oswald's Church)
