Work begins on The Emmanuel Centre project

We’re very excited to have started work on The Emmanuel Centre project.

Earlier this summer, we purchased the industrial unit opposite The Durham Centre, with a view to turning it into a 500-seat auditorium, called The Emmanuel Centre.

This is to accommodate the growth with which God has already blessed us, and that which we believe is still to come.

Why we’re starting with the parking

The first phase of The Emmanuel Centre project is to create extra parking spaces. This is being done first so that there is extra car parking for the conference business at The Durham Centre. This will in turn generate more income for our church, to fund The Emmanuel Centre and other projects.

We’re pleased that work has now begun, and we hope to have around 65 extra parking spaces ready by the end of August.

Stewarding our environment

We’re very aware of our role as stewards of God’s earth, and so while we are losing some trees for the creation of the car park extension, we will be planting more trees elsewhere on our site and developing a sustainable travel plan.
