Redeemer Church Prepares to Launch

Mark Tallentire January 1, 2020

2020 is here, and we’re excited for all God is going to do this year (and this decade!) in and through our church!

As part of this, we’re looking forward to establishing our Chester-le-Street congregation as an independent church later this month, as they relaunch as Redeemer Church on Sunday 26th January! Over the last 3 years God has been so faithful to them, and we can’t wait to partner with them going forward and to see what else God has in store for them in the coming years.

And in preparation for the relaunch, we are today delighted to unveil the new logo for Redeemer Church going forward:

The new logo for Redeemer Church Chester-le-Street

The new logo for Redeemer Church Chester-le-Street

Designed by the incredibly talented Adam Westerman at Morsky Studio, the logo has been developed with the help and input of numerous members of our Chester-le-Street congregation, to whom we are very grateful!

As well as containing a bold declaration of the name of the church, the logo incorporates clear imagery reflecting the idea of Jesus as our “Redeemer”; with the image of both the cross and of a sunrise speaking of the victory and hope we have in Jesus, and of the transformative power of his love.

The chosen colour for the logo, of a deep royal blue with white writing, both emphasises this point but also draws from Emmanuel Church Durham’s own blue and white logo - demonstrating the unity and relationship that the two churches share.

The logo was chosen both for its clear and striking visual message, but also its elegant simplicity - and emerged as the clear favourite amongst a shortlist of designs. A number of variations from the primary logo have also been prepared for various media uses (which can be seen below at the bottom of this article).

This month will also see Redeemer Church’s new website go live, as well as the revealing of our vision statement. There are also a number of key events building up the the official relaunch of the church, which everyone is invited to attend:

Wednesday 15th January - Family Meeting in Chester-le-Street (for members of our Chester-le-Street congregation)

Sunday 19th January - Commissioning Service for Redeemer Church at The Durham Centre

Saturday 25th January - Street Mission in Chester-le-Street, focusing on the launch of Redeemer Church

Sunday 26th January - Official launch of Redeemer Church Chester-le-Street

More details on each of these can be found on our events page.

We’re really excited for Redeemer Church! Please be praying for and encouraging our Chester-le-Street congregation over the coming weeks!

Keep an eye out on social media and in enews for further updates!
