Fight Clubs

Fight Clubs are smaller discipleship groups within our community. Running in addition to our Emmanuel Communities, and the Hub, Fight Clubs are groups that help us to be accountable, getting down to the nitty-gritty of what it looks like to live for Jesus everyday.

So named because they encourage us to “fight the good fight of faith” (1 Timothy 6:12), these groups are traditionally made up of two to three people of the same sex. Each group varies in what they do, though Fight Clubs are encouraged to read a book of the Bible or a Christian book based on the Bible together as a foundation for vulnerable discussion about real-life issues.

They can be formed out of pre-existing close friendships but are also a great opportunity to develop new friendships and to draw newcomers into these close friendships. Once they reach four people, they are encouraged to “multiply” in order to retain a small, intimate feel.
