Our football team Emmanuel Church FC is to fold this summer, at the end of the current season.
In the eight years we have been in action, we have seen well over 100 lads involved in the team. Some have become Christians, many more have spent time with Christians they would never have done otherwise. We hope and pray the impact of the club will be great, perhaps beyond what we will ever see or know.
Thank you to everyone who has supported the club - your prayers and encouragement have been greatly appreciated.
We would like everyone to join us for a Farewell Celebration on Saturday 20th May.
A Ryan Marklew All Time ECFC XI will play a match against a Steve Brooke Current ECFC XI, at the Riverside at Chester-le-Street, kick-off 2pm. Entry is free.
There will then be an awards ceremony, speeches and a buffet at the Queen's Head pub, Chester-le-Street, DH3 3BJ, from 4pm to 8pm. Tickets for this part of the event are available on the day, priced £5. Children are welcome at the pub until 8pm.
But ECFC is not completely finished. We will continue to have a more casual kickabout each Thursday evening. Everyone is welcome, all abilities. If you are interested, contact Ben Westerman, Mike Elliot or Mark Tallentire.
