welcome to emmanuel church chester-le-street!

We gather together weekly for our Sunday morning service at 10:30am at Park View School, Church Chare, DH3 3QA.

You are welcome to join us beforehand to pray at 9:50am, and for tea and coffee from 10:00am. We strongly value being a growing family together and would love to have you come and join us.

The service itself is informal and relaxed, and we gather people from various backgrounds and ages and at different stages of their journey with Jesus.

Each service starts with a lively time of worshipping God through song, during which time we welcome people to bring contributions from the front as God leads them.

A baptism

This is followed by a teaching from the Bible of around 30 minutes, when the children go next door for separate groups.

We have a fantastic team of adults who provide biblical teaching, mixed with lots of fun, for children under the age of 14, divided into different age groups: a crèche for 0-3s, 4-6s, 7-10s, and 11-14s.

Once a month we also share communion (gluten-free bread and grape juice) together, normally at the end of the meeting with the children present.

In addition to our Sunday services, a high priority is placed on cultivating the value of family by meeting together in smaller settings, particularly through our mid-week Emmanuel Communities in Chester-le-Street and smaller discipleship relationships (which we call Faith Clubs).

We are always looking for ways to serve the community in Chester-le-Street, including running things like the Alpha and Parenting courses for the community.

We also run a Mums and Toddlers group, at 9 Newcastle Road, each Monday from 10:00am to 11:30am.

This is open to all pre-school aged children in the area, plus their mums, dads and carers.

There is tea and coffee, biscuits, play - and it's all free.

If you would like to find out more about who we are and what we do, please do email me Ali at ali.scott@emmanuel.org.uk. I really hope we get to meet soon!

We want our church in Chester-le-Street to be a welcoming environment where people of all ages and backgrounds can feel and be safe. In order to ensure this, photography or recording of meetings is not permitted without prior consent. If you have any questions, please get in touch.
